Exciting New Cast Additions and Plot Developments for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 3
Sep-07-2024
Excitement surrounds the upcoming third season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, which reveals a diverse array of new cast members. Horror enthusiasts who admire Guillermo del Toro's work may recognize some familiar faces.
Alexandra Masangkay, Hugo Arbues, Candela Saitta, Óscar Jaenada, and Eduardo Noriega are the latest additions to join the stellar lineup featuring Melissa McBride and Norman Reedus in this spin-off. Filming for the third installment is currently taking place in Madrid, as confirmed by AMC through the show's official social media channels.
Fans of the genre may have seen Jaenada from titles such as Chaos Walking and The Shallows. Noriega is known for his portrayal of Jacinto in Guillermo del Toro's acclaimed 2001 film The Devil's Backbone. Season 2 of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is slated to return on September 29 in the US, officially titled The Book of Carol. This season will focus on the two main characters’ quest to reunite after Daryl's unexpected arrival in Marseille. While the narrative continues in France, this year’s San Diego Comic-Con divulged that season 3 will shift its setting to Spain.
With this change in location, it's uncertain if Laurent (Louis Puech Scigliuzzi) and Isabelle (Clémence Poésy) will accompany Daryl over the border. However, it's intriguing to consider why they might not, especially given showrunner David Zabel's recent insights regarding Daryl's dynamic with the former nun.
Zabel expressed that while there are moments of tension, a deeper bond appears to be forming beyond mere friendship. He emphasized the desire to portray an adult relationship development between two distinct characters, inviting viewers to witness what unfolds through the story.
He remarked on the connection that was emerging in the first season, indicating it was organic rather than forced. Season 2 delves further into this evolving relationship, highlighting the surrogate family dynamic that includes Isabelle, Daryl, and Laurent.
Before Jaenada makes his appearance in season 3 of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, he will be seen in The Platform 2, the sequel to Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia's celebrated dystopian thriller. The first trailer for the sequel premiered on Netflix back in July, ahead of its October release.
